– nursery transformation: week three –

so, part of the nursery transformation project included relocating ryan’s rather extensive record collection from the old media room to the living room. the old media room shelves now house my fabric and we got a new ikea shelf for the records…

it’s musical chairs around here! we’ve included some “before” photos of the living room and will post updates on our progress.

check out our week 1 and week 2 nursery posts!

– almost real –

i recently found myself at the bass pro shop up in gwinnett. they had some pretty hilarious dioramas, you’d think you were at the fernbank museum. they definitely wanted you to feel like you were out in the wilderness instead of a suburban mall.

i saw some sweet views of midtown atlanta last night from the rooftop of the windsor building! it was freezing and windy however.

– under the bridge downtown –

have you ever noticed the murals under the train tracks on ralph mcgill blvd near freedom pkwy? one side of the street is more graffiti-style and the other side has these cool bicyclists. the bicyclists side also has a beltline of atlanta logo, so it’s somehow affiliated with the atlanta beltline.

– ryan

UPDATE: these two murals are part of the art on the atlanta beltline campaign’s permanent collection. the bicyclist is by loss prevention collective and the abstract is by hence.

– nursery transformation: week two –

so far, we have moved the big worktable from the old office into its new home (hiding the flat file underneath), relocated gub’s fabric collection and moved the old card catalogue. we also set up ryan’s record collection in the living room.

getting the nursery emptied out was great! except we now have our prized 50s sectional sofa in there, which needs to be sold before we can paint. (anyone interested?) but we did buy some fabric to make a new shade for the window and we’re close to selecting a paint color.

check out our week 1 nursery post!

– suntrust building –

have you ever explored the suntrust building and surrounding areas in downtown atlanta? it’s a pretty area to walk around in case you’ve never been. the building is another design by john portman, and besides the cool architecture, there are lots of sculptures around the interior and exterior, including works by pablo picasso. there are also numerous surrounding fountains with great reflections of the downtown skyscrapers.

be sure to check out our previous posts on the americasmart building and connecting hallways.

– japanese magnolia –

i took some more photos of our japanese magnolia in full bloom. it looked great against the overcast sky!
